O ano é 1978

Nós só havíamos passado três anos de reconstrução do Lord Jim, e estávamos ansiosos para testar as novas velas e cordames. Que melhor maneira de fazer isso do que em uma corrida. 

O Mestre Raça Mariners! Na etapa final, onde esta foto foi tirada, o barco estava a fazendo 14,5 nós e senti apenas um pouco fora de controle ...

The year is 1978. We just had spent three years of rebuilding LORD JIM, and were anxious to test the new sails and rigging. What better way to do that than in a race the Master Mariners Race! On the final leg, where this picture was taken, the boat was making 14.5 knots and felt just slightly out of control... em São Francisco.
