... De repente, o silêncio foi interrompido por pacífica o som de alta-campo gritando de um motor, ainda distante, mas se aproximando rápido ... como nós procurou o horizonte, vimos pela primeira vez o rabo de galo jogado por um jet-ski ...
... Nós acenou e ele veio junto com o barco de pesca e perguntou se éramos os donos do barco afundado, e ele também pediu a nossa permissão para ter um olhar mais atento ... e então se apresentou e disse que ele poderia ser capaz de nos ajudar ... jet-ski cara para o resgate!
Como se viu o jovem nadar-troncos era sócio de uma empresa especializada em serviços marítimos para as plataformas de petróleo, porto e construção da marina, e qualquer construção privada na orla. A empresa possui e opera uma frota de propósito construir barcaças em vários tamanhos e tem bases ao longo da costa brasileira. Tracy e eu gostei do jovem imediatamente, nós apreciado a sua energia positiva e sua'' pode fazer abordagem''. Marcelo Zenóbio era o seu nome, e da empresa que ele está envolvido com é chamado ZEMAR ... nós suspeitava que era negócio de sua família.
Marcelo dirigia seu jet-ski até Lord Jim, amarrou-se a equipar o barco, e mergulhou para o lado e inspecionou o casco ea posição do barco. Ele era de mergulho livre em um profundo suspiro de ar, ele foi lá muito tempo ... obviamente ele estava em casa abaixo e acima da superfície da água ... ele era uma alma gêmea ...
Quando ele voltou para o barco de pesca, ele nos disse que ele poderia trazer o barco de volta para a superfície, e que ele tinha o equipamento e pessoal para fazer o trabalho. Ele também afirmou que o mais provável seria necessário um segundo barco, especialmente se necessário para rebocar Lord Jim para qualquer distância.
Quando Marcelo soube que éramos amigos com Amyr Klink e que Amyr e alguns outros barcos estavam a caminho de Paraty, Marcelo disse que certamente seria capaz de fazer algum tipo de acordo entre todos nós para obter Lord Jim flutuando novamente e para um pátio para reparos ... Marcelo nos fez uma oferta on-the-spot para levantar o barco para um preço fixo, o que na minha mente (ainda hoje) foi mais do que justo.
Aceitamos sua oferta com um aperto de mão, e nunca se arrependeu este negócio ... é um dos poucos negócios que fizemos no Brasil foram os dois parceiros viveu até o compromisso, e onde ninguém tentou estragar-nos a meio do trabalho. ..
Marcelo não podia esperar a chegada da equipe de resgate de Paraty, ele nos disse que ele iria receber o seu equipamento em movimento e tudo estaria no lugar amanhã de manhã ... ele também disse que iria coordenar com o povo de Paraty para obter coisas rolando mais rápido possível ... e saiu gritando em seu jet-ski com o rabo de galo ...

As we settled in for the wait, we started to appreciate the natural beauty of the location. The island was uninhabited and nature was untouched...the only sounds were from the birds in the trees on shore. Even the caretaker of the island did not live there, he lived on a neighboring island and came across a few times a week in his small punt...

...we waved and he came over alongside the fishing boat and asked if we were the people who owned the sunken boat, and he also asked our permission to have a closer look...and then introduced himself and stated that he might be able to help us...jet-ski guy to the rescue!
As it turned out the young man in swim-trunks was a partner in a company which specializes in marine services to the oil rigs, harbor and marina construction, and any private construction on the waterfront. The company owns and operates a flotilla of purpose-build barges in various sizes and has bases all along the Brazilian coast. Tracy and I liked the young man immediately, we appreciated his positive energy and his ''can do'' approach. Marcelo Zenóbio was his name, and the company he is involved with is called ZEMAR...we suspected it was his family's business.
Marcelo drove his jet-ski over to LORD JIM, tied it up to the boat's rigging, and dove over the side and inspected the hull and the position of the boat. He was free-diving on one deep breath of air, he was down there quite a long time...obviously he was at home below and above the surface of the water...he was a kindred spirit...
When he came back to the fishing boat, he told us that he could bring the boat back up to the surface and that he had the equipment and personnel to do the job. He also stated that most likely it would need a second boat, especially if we needed to tow LORD JIM for any distance.

When Marcelo heard that we were friends with Amyr Klink and that Amyr and some other boats were on their way from Paraty, Marcelo said that we certainly would be able to make some kind of an arrangement between all of us to get LORD JIM floating again and to a yard for repairs...Marcelo made us an on-the-spot offer to raise the boat for a fix price, which in my mind (even today) was more than fair.
We accepted his offer with a handshake, and we never regretted this deal...it is one of the few deals we made in Brazil were both partners lived up to the commitment, and where no one tried to screw us halfway through the job...
Marcelo could not wait for the arrival of the rescue team from Paraty, he told us that he would get his equipment moving and everything would be in place by tomorrow morning...he also said that he would coordinate with the people of Paraty to get things rolling as quickly as possible...and off he went on his screaming jet-ski with the rooster tail...
