...when we wake the next morning and meet with Marcelo on the barge. we are again astounded of all the things going on while we sleep, of all the people who care for us and our boat...it is a true community effort...Marcelo managed to get more underwater Epoxy, this time from Rio since all supplies in the Angra area are exhausted...the divers are at work already, trying to close the leak with oaku
m and the Epoxy...the Bombeiros brought an even more powerful pump...and most of all we hear that someone found a place for us to haul the boat out...
...hauling our the boat was always a major concern for us because of LORD JIM's deep draft...at 10 feet 6'' in cruising configuration it is hard enough to find a shipyard with enough water...but now with a sunken boat the draft will be close to 12 feet, making things even more difficult...
...yet, despite all those limitations, our good friends Sergio Castello Branco and his son Carlo found a small yard which has enough water depth to haul the boat...one drawback is that it is over thirty miles away, but if we tow the boat in a two stage operation we can keep the boat on a route where she is sheltered by the islands and does not have to go into the open sea
